Betty keeps her kitchen
Tidy and clean
She works all day
Earning her money like a machine
She lives alone
Taking care of her only kid
Loving her child
Like his father never did
He left Betty alone
Completely with despair
No money to help,
Just a heavy weight she must bare
Jamie is a small boy
Who has no parents
To hug and kiss
He roams around homeless
In the world no one knows he exists
Each day the meat on his bones
Thins and thins
Soon he will be just be a pile of dust
Being punished for his parents sins
Mary walks
In the nights streets
With her heels so high
Going with every guy she meets
She is used and abused
For one mans urge
Where she is treated
Beyond her own verge
All this for just a couple of bucks
From all the men and their deluxe
Colin awaits In the shadows
As his addiction takes him away
To a place so full of fear He cant escape
While his body And health quickly decay
Eyes blood shot, Shivers, trembles,
And pupils so black
He cant control the needles
That take him where he wont ever come back
Lilly lives a life full of fear
Avoiding her husband just incase
He decides to have a bottle of beer
At that time him, she fears to face
Intoxicated his mind will be
As his fist takes a swing
And makes contact with his wife
Soon bruises those hands shall bring
Dominic is too young
To be the father
He must become
Be strong for his girl
And for his baby who will soon be in this world
No family to depend on
He must grow up so fast
As this problem amounts
To something so vast
Feeling something has been lost
Now as he pays the cost
All these people in this world
Single mothers
Starving children
Hookers
Addicts
Young parents
& abused wives
Are here in pain, living their lives

The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle. (Anais Nin)
